During this time, it is very important that all residents, guests, and renters comply with the established guidelines to protect nesting sea turtles and hatchlings.
Please remind guests and renters to avoid significant fines to owners.
Note that violations of the City of Marco Island Turtle Light Ordinance may result in fines up to $1,500 and possible additional penalties, which are charged back to the unit owners.
Bonita Beach violations can lead to $1,000 per day for non-compliance, and potentially up to $25,000 for harming turtles.
Fort Myers and Naples beach violations can result in fines up to $500 per day.
